CIAT at the Alpine World Ski Championships 2011

A successful week for CIAT and Gauthier de Tessières at the Alpine World Ski Championships in Garmish Partenkirchen, Germany.

The French skier, who represents the CIAT brand, was declared World Champion during the new Nations Cup team event. The event consisted of knockout Parallel Giant Slalom races which led to a final between the favourites Austria and France. Ranking equal in first place 2-2 after the four head-to-heads, the Tricolours triumphed thanks to the most competitive times also giving France its 1st gold medal of the competition.

At the end of the week in the Men’s Giant Slalom, on a very twisting and physical course, Gauthier de Tessières finished 9th only a few tenths of a second behind the second place and his friend and French teammate Cyprien Richard, who won the silver medal for the event.

Sunday 20th February, after the victory of Jean-Baptiste Grange in the slalom, France finished second in this 2011 World Championship behind Austria and its 8 medals, 4 of which were gold, and in front of Italy
